Americans for Prosperity: Opposing Sub-Prime Bailout

Americans for Prosperity is a coalition that is opposed to any measures taken by the government to bailout lenders and borrowers.

“We formed this coalition because we don’t want the fallout from the sub-prime housing crisis to be used as a pretext for a larger more intrusive federal government,” said Phil Kerpen, director of policy, Americans for Prosperity.

The groups opposes measures to expand government sponsored enterprises like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Americans for Prosperity say government involvement in the housing crisis will encourage more irresponsible risk-taking behavior and the taxpayers will foot the bill.
